Stephen Lawrence (13 September 1974 – 22 April 1993) was a Black British  teenager from Eltham, south east London, who was murdered in a racist attack while waiting for a bus on the evening of 22 April 1993. Witnesses said he was attacked by a gang of white youths chanting racist slogans. The police didn't sentence the attackers because they stereotypically though that he was a typicall black youth involved in crime and that was the reason for his death.
His mother, Doreen Lawrence fought for the justice of her son's case for eighteen years until the men that were responsible for their sons death were eventually sentemnced to prison.
